The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. While living in NYC for 25 years, I thoroughly explored the galleries and Museums there. I’d always wanted to be able to create abstract images in the astonishing variety of styles I saw during this time, which would normally would require several lifetimes to achieve. I developed a technique I call Photo/Painting Alchemy. Walking around in daily life with a camera, I look for interesting compositions in my surroundings. Careful framing and photographing these results in an abstract image. Without modifying these compositions I change some, all, or none of the colors digitally only within the already existing areas of light, dark and tonality.
